☁️ CLOUD & SAAS SECURITY

  • AI SaaS Supply Chain Attack (Vercel/Context.ai) — Lumma Stealer infostealer at an AI productivity vendor escalated into full cloud infrastructure breach. Root causes: environment variables stored readable by default; overpermissioned 'Allow All' OAuth grants; employee-authorized broad enterprise access bypassing IT governance. Key lesson: AI SaaS tools structurally require broad, persistent OAuth scopes that bypass standard vendor risk assessments. Audit all AI tool OAuth grants now.

  • EU Worker Cyber Threat Survey — 75% of EU workers face cyber-attacks at work: 39% experienced phishing, 15% encountered AI-generated scams, and 69% were unaware that sharing work data on social media or AI platforms constitutes a security risk.

🔑 IDENTITY & AUTHENTICATION

  • Pass-the-Passkey Attack — Researchers published 20+ techniques exploiting WebAuthn implementation flaws in Windows 11 (CVE-2026-34348) and Microsoft Entra ID that bypass phishing-resistant MFA. Windows Event Logs record complete WebAuthn assertion responses; Entra ID failed to bind challenges to sessions or validate signature counters. Mitigations: Apply post-July 2026 Windows patches; enforce server-side anti-replay; use hardware-backed attestation for admin accounts.

  • Microsoft Entra ID Transitions to Passkey Default — Microsoft is retiring SMS and voice authentication in Entra ID, making passkeys the new default authentication method. Rollout ongoing Q4 2026.

  • Session Hijacking Bypasses MFA — AiTM (adversary-in-the-middle) session hijacking is rendering MFA-compliant stacks increasingly ineffective by harvesting post-authentication session tokens rather than attacking the authentication ceremony itself.
